On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, a 34-year-old man in Nazarabad County, located in Alborz
Province near Savojbolagh, killed his wife by repeatedly striking her on the head. The
suspect was arrested following the crime.
Hekmatollah Shojaei, the head of Alborz Province’s Criminal Investigation Department,
stated, “Following the report from the 110 Police Emergency Center about a suspicious
death in Nazarabad, the criminal investigation officers were dispatched to the scene.”
He cited “family disputes” as the motive behind the murder. The term “family disputes” is
often used by officials to portray the killing of women as a family private matter.
However, it is known that many arguments between spouses arise due to controlling
behavior by men, imposing restrictions, and suspicions, which lead to resistance from
women against men.
The report from the head of the Criminal Investigation Department of Alborz Province
did not reveal the identities of the killer and the victim, and no image of the victim was
