On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, a 50-year-old man in Khorramshahr, Khuzestan province,
brutally killed his 45-year-old wife and 24-year-old son with multiple knife stabs.
According to local media, including Rokna, the man first stabbed his wife to death and then
used the same weapon to fatally attack his son. During the assault, three neighbors who tried
to intervene and de-escalate the situation were also attacked and severely injured. Their
conditions are reported as critical and they have been hospitalized.
This bloody incident once again reveals the depth of the domestic violence crisis in
Iran\u2014violence that often escalates into tragedy due to the absence of effective legal
protections and support systems. The simultaneous killing of a wife and child reflects the
