On April 18, 2025, a woman in the city of Tabriz was shot and killed by her husband with
a firearm. The incident occurred on 17 Shahrivar Street, directly outside a family
counseling center.
According to official reports, a 53-year-old man had visited the center with his wife in an
attempt to resolve family issues. However, after the counseling session ended, an
argument broke out, and the man pulled a gun he had hidden in his bag and fatally shot
his wife.
Several critical points stand out in this deadly act of violence:

requires serious attention to women\u2019s rights and robust institutional support.
Society, lawmakers, and responsible institutions must take more decisive
and effective action against this ongoing pattern of gender-based violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
