Instead of protecting and supporting<br>his daughter, her father issued the \u201corder of death,\u201d and his brother (Fatemeh\u2019s uncle)<br>carried it out by cutting her jugular vein.<br>Despite the clarity of this tragedy, official media once again attempted to minimize and<br>conceal the crime under labels such as \u201cfamily disputes\u201d or \u201cdomestic homicide.\u201d This<br>language, repeated thousands of times, refuses to name these crimes by their real<br>name honor killings and in doing so, removes social, cultural, and legal responsibility<br>from the patriarchal system.<br>The truth is that Fatemeh\u2019s killing was neither a personal incident nor a family dispute.
