On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, a 20-year-old woman named Firooz was killed in her
sleep by her brother, father, and uncle in the city of Erbil.
Early this year, Firooz was thrown down from one of the residential buildings in Erbil.
Two TikTok influencers were arrested in connection with this incident. According to the
published report, before being thrown down, Firooz was raped by these two individuals,
and her father had threatened to kill her if the perpetrators were released.
This is despite the fact that Firooz’s parents were divorced, and her mother had custody
of her for the past eight years. Her mother had remarried. It is said that with the consent
of her mother and stepfather, the perpetrators were released. During this time, Firooz
faced threats both from the sexual assailants and from her family.
According to a knowledgeable source, Firooz’s mother was forced to relocate due to the
