USA – Philadelphia: Shantee Tucker, Transgender Woman, 30-murdered in 2018
Shantee Tucker was shot eight times. She was widely known as someone who got along with everyone. “She could be friends with anyone, from the homeless man on the street to the fashion stylist,” said Samantha Jo Dato, former logistical coordinator of the Philadelphia Trans Health Conference and a leader in the Transgender Women of Color Collective, who had known Shantee for a decade. Killing Transgender people is rooted in patriarchal beliefs by those who consider folx a disgrace to their family and the society.
