Iran – Kurdistan: Fereshteh Dehghan, 24-killed by her brother and cousin-January 14, 2021
Sonia (Fereshteh) was a child bride since the age of 13 and was recently divorced and living with her 6-year-old child in her grandparents’ house in Sardasht. Sonia worked in a hairdressing salon. On January 14th, her brother and cousin went to Sonia’s workplace and deceived her into going home with them. Sonia never made it home. Her brother and cousin stabbed and tortured her to death. They were arrested by the Sardasht Intelligence Agency and confessed to Sonia’s murder and to burying her body for honor.
