Iran – Abadan: Fatemeh Barihi, 19-killed by her husband,June 2020
Fatemeh Barihi was killed by her 23-year-old husband. After killing Fatemeh he claimed “A year ago, Fatemeh Barihi ran away from home with another man 2 days after our marriage ceremony. I searched her for a year until I found her in Mashhad and brought her back to Abadan.” He continued, “I beheaded her with a knife near the river”. He was proud that he had killed his wife. Fatemeh Barihi, who was forced into marriage, fled to Mashhad 2 days after her wedding with a girlfriend. She lived there in secret until she was found.
