Another Man from Abadan Kills His Wife

Rokna, in a report dated August 1, 2024, announced the arrest of a man who had
brutally murdered his wife earlier in July 2024. The incident began at 6 AM on Tuesday,
July 3, when someone called the Abadan emergency services and police, reporting that
a young woman had been thrown down the stairs of her apartment building in one of
Abadan’s neighborhoods. The semi-conscious body of the woman, identified as (P.S.),
was transported to Alavi Hospital in the city. Unfortunately, after eight days of fighting for
her life, the young woman, who had suffered a severe brain injury, passed away on
Wednesday, July 11, 2024.
Branch 2 of the Abadan Public and Revolutionary Court’s prosecutor ordered the arrest
of the young woman’s husband. Initially, the suspect denied the murder, claiming that
his wife had fallen down the stairs after losing her balance.
Avina, the couple’s 6-year-old daughter, told her mother’s family that she had witnessed
her parents fighting and that her father had also hit her. This prompted the victim’s
family to file a complaint, insisting on an investigation. They stated that their daughter
and son-in-law had conflicts and had heard that the couple had fought the night of the
incident. They are convinced that their daughter was murdered.
Based on the available evidence and the 6-year-old daughter’s testimony, the husband
confessed to the crime after 20 days. He reenacted the scene of the fight and the act of
throwing his wife down the stairs in front of the prosecutor and the criminal police. The
case remains open with the police for further investigation to clarify all aspects.
Official government media have refrained from revealing the names of the victim and
the perpetrator or publishing their photos. Now, with the confession of the killer, anyone
with more details about this crime is requested to share their information through the
Campaign’s website.
