On the evening of Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Hamedan witnessed yet another
bitter act of violence—one that claimed the life of a 45-year-old woman in a horrific
tragedy. The woman, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was the victim of a
deadly attack involving multiple stab wounds inflicted by a 35-year-old man.
Reports indicate that the perpetrator had an altercation with the victim before launching
the fatal assault. Following the attack, he fled the scene but was ultimately apprehended
shortly thereafter. The victim was transported to a hospital in Hamedan, where, despite
the medical team’s efforts, she succumbed to the severe injuries caused by the assault.
While state media attempts to downplay this crime as a mere personal dispute, the
reality is that such incidents reflect structural violence and the lack of adequate
protections for women against threats. Although the motive behind the killing remains
unclear, this tragic event underscores once again the critical and unresolved challenges
