Afghanistan- Wama: Fateha 18, and Hedayatullah, 19-killed in February 2017
Fateha, a young woman who had been forced to marry a man against her wishes, was arrested along with her lover Hedayatullah in the eastern province of Nuristan, Afghanistan after apparently attempting to elope. The family believed she had damaged their honor and the local elders decided to kill the two who wanted to get married. Family members and armed villagers, attacked the police station, took the girl and boy outside and shot them in front of the public.
