Moca, Puerto Rico: Yampi Méndez Arocho, Transgender Man, 19-killed on March 5th, 2020
Yampi Méndez Arocho shared his love for Basketball on social media. He was simply “Humility Prevails.” Arocho was allegedly assaulted hours before his death. Physical violence – often fatal, is disproportionately inflicted upon Transgender people of color. The intersections of racism, transphobia, sexism, biphobia, and homophobia often conspire to deprive Trans people the full enjoyment of their basic human rights.
