England – Manchester: Farkhanda Younis, 30 years old-killed by her husband,April 2013
Farkhanda Younis, was murdered by her husband Jahangir Nazar. Before her death, her young son bravely rang 999 in September 2012 to say his stepdad Nazar was hitting his mum. Eight months later, Ms Younis’ son rang police again because he couldn’t rouse his mum and her room was locked. Her body was found by cops with multiple stab wounds to the neck. Nazar was found guilty of her murder and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 22 years.
