Woman Was Killed in Iranshahr with a Colt

On Thursday, May 16, 2024, a 31-year-old woman was killed by her husband using a
firearm in a suburban area of Iranshahr, a city in the Sistan and Baluchestan province.
According to the Rokna News website, “The police commander of Iranshahr County
reported the arrest of the killer of the 31-year-old woman in less than an hour.”
After the suspect’s arrest, a Colt handgun was found in his possession, and during initial
police investigations, he confessed to the killing.
Government-affiliated media have cited “family disputes” as the motive for the killing.
The term “family disputes” is often vague. As with many reports related to “honor
killings,” the names and details of the perpetrator and the victim have not been
disclosed.
