Killing a Woman in Siahkal
Stop honor Killings Campaign reports: On Monday, August 12, 2024, a man in Siahkal
County, located in Gilan Province, northern Iran, killed his wife by repeatedly striking her
with a blunt object.
According to the Young Journalists Club, the Siahkal County police commander stated:
“Following reports from the public regarding a domestic dispute that led to a killing with
a cold weapon in one of the neighborhoods of Siahkal, the police immediately took up
the investigation.”
After the suspect’s arrest, initial investigations revealed that the man confessed to killing
his 48-year-old wife by multiple blows to her head with a blunt object.
As usual, the motivation behind this murder was described as “family disputes” in
government or government-affiliated media. The police have not provided further
details, including the identities of the perpetrator and the victim.
