13-Year-Old Girl Killed by 40-Year-Old Man Who Intended to Rape Her
In the last days of August, the family of a teenage girl rushed to the police station to report their 13-year-old daughter missing. The girl’s father said, “My daughter, Sheida, is 13 years old and a few days ago, she left home to go to a class and has not returned since. We have searched everywhere for Sheida but have found no trace of her. We are seeking the police’s help to find our daughter.”
Following the complaint, the investigation by Tehran’s Criminal Court began. A few days later, it was discovered that money had been deposited into Sheida’s account by a 40-year-old man. The investigators located and arrested this man. In the initial investigation, the man claimed not to know Sheida and said the money was mistakenly deposited into her account. However, investigators knew he was lying. Consequently, the questioning continued until he confessed to killing Sheida.
He stated, “One night, while I was with my family, I saw Sheida by chance. Four women were beating her, so I went over and rescued Sheida from them. She said she had run away from home and wanted to go to a restaurant to find her favorite boy, but he wasn’t at his workplace, and she couldn’t find him no matter how hard she searched.”
The suspect said, “That night, I took Sheida to my home, but my family protested. They told me to hand the teenage girl over to the police so she could return to her family. After a few hours, the teenage girl ran away from our house and went to the corner of the street. I followed her, and because I felt sorry for her, I deposited money into her account. I then put her on my motorcycle to take her back to her family. On the way, however, demonic temptations overtook me. I changed direction and went towards the deserts of Roodhen. Sheida complained about heading to Roodhen, and we got into a struggle where she insulted me. I hit her on the head several times with a stick from the motorcycle, causing her to lose consciousness. I then dumped her body in a ravine nearby.”
According to the Hamshahri newspaper, following the suspect’s confession, he was transferred to the 10th Police Station in Tehran, and investigators searched for Sheida’s body in Roodhen. The police report has not disclosed the identities of the murderer and the victim.
