Young Woman Was Killed in Bandar Abbas

On August 17, 2024, a young woman was brutally killed in Bandar Abbas by a man at the Bargh Square in Bandar Abbas, suffering multiple stab wounds. According to state media, without revealing the identities of the killer or the victim, the motive behind the crime was reported as a verbal altercation and dispute between the two individuals.

According to the news website Rokna, the young woman, 32 years old, was killed by a 50-year-old street vendor with whom she had a prior acquaintance. During a verbal altercation, the man inflicted multiple stab wounds to the victim’s neck and hands. He then turned the knife on himself and he is currently hospitalized.

In official discourse, the vague term “domestic murder” is often used, and the motive for the murder is typically labeled as a “family dispute.”
