Pakistan – Lahore: Zeenat Bibi, 16-murdered by her mother-June 9, 2016
Zeenat Bibi was set on fire by her mother Perveen Bibi in the eastern city of Lahore. Zeenat married Hasan in court on May 29 and sought security as she felt threatened from her family. A little more than a week after the couple acquired their marriage license Zeenat was Killed by her mother for marrying for love. After killing her daughter, Perveen went out on the street, shouting: ‘People! I have killed my daughter for misbehaving and giving our family a bad name and bringing shame on our family.
