Accidentally the Killer Was Found!
On July 8, 2024, in the Buin Zahra County of Qazvin Province, the charred body of a woman was discovered by a shepherd on the Perkam-Shadmehan road in the Dashtabi district.
Investigations revealed that the burned body belonged to a young woman.
Initial tracking and examinations showed that the crime had occurred elsewhere, and the body was burned there to destroy evidence and prevent identification.
Recently, the man who committed the killing was arrested in Qom Province on a different charge. During interrogation, after 40 days, he confessed to killing his wife and explained how he carried out the murder, citing “family disputes” as his motive. As usual, government-affiliated or pro-government media outlets have attributed this killing to family disputes, and the police have not provided the media with further details, including the identities of the killer and the victim.
honor killings and violence against women are among the most serious social and human rights challenges in various societies. This type of violence, often carried out under the pretext of preserving “honor” and “reputation,” is frequently rooted in traditional cultures and gender inequalities, and the crime is often concealed under the label of family disputes. Women and girls who are blamed for their personal life choices, such as marriage, dress, or social interactions, are often the victims of such crimes.
These actions not only violate the right to life and freedom of these individuals but also perpetuate the cycle of violence through silence and concealment. Combating this phenomenon requires raising awareness, education, and the establishment of stronger protective laws to safeguard women’s rights.
