According to reports sent by human rights activists in Iran, 28-year-old Maryam Soleimani, a mother of three children from the village of “Qezel Akh” in Khoy city in Urmia province, was victim of honor killing for suspicion on extramarital relationship. After she was invited to her father’s home, her two brothers and her father, after shaving her hair and severely beaten and tortured her, she was hanged and killed. She was a mother of three children who was a victim of child marriage at the age of 13 and was forced to marry a man she did not love.
According to informed sources, this victim of a child marriage was shaved by her father and two brothers, tortured and finally hanged for the reason of honor.
Maryam was killed before she was physically killed, when her childhood was taken away, when she became a victim of forced marriage, when she without having a childhood time, became a mother herself.
Unfortunately, criminals in honor killings are not seriously prosecuted by the government of the Islamic Republic due to anti-human and anti-women laws. Since the law in the Islamic system leaves the punishment or forgiveness of the murderer to the parents, and in many cases, the murderers themselves are the perpetrators or the perpetrators of these crimes, which after a short period of time, the prosecution is prohibited and their punishment is waived.
