On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Nermin Pirhaman, a mother of two from the village of
Chamsu, a suburb of Sanandaj (Seneh), was killed by her husband, Heshmat Kalaei,
with multiple stab wounds in front of a notary office in Sanandaj.
According to the human rights organization Hengaw, quoting an “informed” source, the
victim had come to the notary office at her husband’s request to finalize their divorce.
She was killed with 20 stab wounds between Madar Square and Siros Street.
Nermin Pirhaman had left her husband’s home several months ago. On the day of the
incident, the killer lured her to the location under the pretext of agreeing to the divorce
and then killed her with multiple stab wounds in front of bystanders.
